Cake Design and Pricing

Not all cakes require a consultation, most occasion cakes can be handled over the phone.  However for exceptional occasion where a lot of detail is needed on the cake, as well as weddings cakes a consultation is essential. 

To ensure that we have the same vision of what you would like your cake to look like, all our larger design cakes start as a detailed sketch following a consultation and tasting appointment.  As a design concept you may wish to incorporate a theme or the look and style of the fabric from a dress or perhaps your invitation.  A design appointment allows you the time to explore your vision and the flavour you would like the cake to be. 

The inside of a cake is as important as the outside.  All my cakes are made with the freshest ingredients and free-range eggs.  I use traditional baking techniques to ensure that you and your guests will enjoy a moist, mouth-wateringly rich flavoured cake.  With  tiered cakes you can mix things up a little or a lot by having different flavoured cakes and fillings.   We can accommodate for all sorts of shapes, sizes and fillings.  All cakes are  covered in a layer of rich chocolate ganache before I apply the final layer of the best quality Swiss fondant.  

Please note that we require at least a minimum four week notice period when placing an order,  8 weeks for wedding cakes, however at times I am able to create cakes at shorter notice but this is subject to other cake commitments. Summer wedding time is always a busy period so please book early to avoid disappointment.  I only accept one wedding cake in a week in order to give my full attention to your creation.   

For gluten free and vegan cakes I prepare these cakes on their own to avoid cross contamination but I can't guarantee that they are 100% free of any other products as they are prepared in the same kitchen when I use regular flour and nuts for other cakes.

You are welcome to collect your cake from my studio in Shepton Mallet, no parking restrictions apply.  Delivery within 5 miles of my studio is free and further afield in Somerset or beyond are calculated according to the delivery post code of the recipient.  Please contact me for an accurate delivery charge.  To ensure delivery on a required day, please ensure your order is placed early to avoid disappointment.
